Michael Muirhead

Michael G. Muirhead currently leads the Upstream Oil & Gas consulting group for IHS Markit in Calgary.  He is a technically proficient exploration geologist who has been in the petroleum industry since 1991 and has drilled approximately 800 prospects in western Canada and Internationally. Mr. Muirhead is an expert in sedimentology, depositional environments and basin analysis with extensive field operations experience with numerous E&P companies. Trained in seismic interpretation, petrophysical analysis and prospect risk analysis, all underpinned by a proven effectiveness in operational decision making. Excellent knowledge of field development, reservoir and production engineering and drilling workflows, for unconventional and conventional reservoirs developed through experience within numerous multi-discipline teams. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of British Columbia.
