Mark Teare

Mark is founding Senior Vice President of Exploration for Canacol Energy Ltd. Over his professional life, Mark has attracted over US$ 2.0 billion in capital to fund E&P projects. Since joining Canacol in early 2009, he has made 19 conventional oil and gas exploration discoveries in Colombia and Ecuador, and created over US$ 1.4 billion in value. While at Canacol, Mark has drilled 90 exploration and development wells and delivered an 80% success rate. As a result, Canacol’s 2P reserves have increased from two to over 100 MMboe, representing a 60%+ compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The 2P reserve base currently sustains 20,000 boepd production, and generates $150 MM EBITDA annually. Furthermore, Mark has built a large and diverse exploration portfolio that exposes Canacol’s investors to over 1 billion barrels of unrisked oil and gas prospective resource potential. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Geology.
