Lee Kruszewski
Executive Director, Science and Innovation Policy and Strategy, Economic Development and Trade at Government of Alberta
Lee Kruszewski is the Executive Director of the Science and Innovation Policy and Strategy within the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade (EDT). Lee is responsible for the development of science and innovation policies, strategies and funding programs. Recent priority focus areas include strategies relating to advanced technology (cleantech, nanotech, infotech and genomics) and health innovation.
In government and industry, Lee has led various strategic planning and startup initiatives and technology partnerships. In government, he led groups providing system-wide research and innovation policy advice, and developed research and commercialization strategies, international partnerships, centers and projects with Alberta, United States and Chinese partners in the information technology, energy, and environment sectors. While in industry, he held senior management, business planning, and product development roles for a wireless technology development company and with TELUS, a Canadian telecommunications corporation. Lee holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, a Project Management certificate, is a Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta, and is actively interested in information and communications technology applications and sustainable energy and agricultural system development.
