Jim DuBois

Jim is Vice President of Strategic Consultant – Lead at 3esi-Enersight. He excels at the critical elements of portfolio management: building customized portfolio models for clients, dealing with issues of data granularity, integrating probabilistic data into the model, and using the model to define, refine and characterize alternate investment options for management to consider. Jim’s prior experience as an engineer in his earlier career allows him to bring an insider’s perspective to his client engagements. Prior to joining 3esi, Jim was the Vice President of Consulting at Portfolio Decisions. For more than 15 years there, his consulting work focused on strategic planning for small to medium sized energy companies, scenario generation and comparison, value chain analysis, and complex risk analysis. Jim held multiple positions in engineering and financial planning at Diamond Shamrock/Maxus Energy before joining Portfolio Decisions. This depth of industry experience informs all that he does. Jim has a passion for making the complexities of portfolio management as clear and as accessible as possible, and as such has authored numerous technical papers, magazine articles and presentations. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas and has done graduate work in Management at the University of Texas at Dallas.
