Mr. Tim Marchant is a global executive, professional geologist and adjunct professor with over 30 years experience working in various energy markets around the world.
After completing his Ph.D. in Geology at Trinity College Dublin, Tim joined the energy industry in 1980 in Calgary and learned the business while working in Western Canada, the Northwest Territories, the Beaufort Sea and Canada’s offshore East Coast. He then ventured abroad with postings in Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait, where he served as President, BP Kuwait until 2007, after which he was promoted to Vice President, BP Middle East E&P. From these various bases, Tim has worked in the major energy producing regions of the world.
Tim returned to Calgary in 2009, where he is an Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Energy Geopolitics at the Haskayne School of Business. He also serves as a non-executive director of Vermilion Energy (TSX: VET), Valeura Energy (TSX: VLE) and Cub Energy (TSX-V: KUB).
