David is an international oil & gas land and exploration contracts negotiator with 33 years in the industry including 30 years of international experience primarily supporting the substantial global exploration programs of major Canadian E&P companies. In his 13 years at Talisman Energy, David held Senior Negotiator positions in the Global New Ventures and International Exploration departments where he was responsible for the negotiation and maintenance of international land and joint venture agreements with host governments and major industry partners for a diverse range of countries/regions including Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Peru, Alaska, Poland, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, Somalia, the Bahamas, and the Falklands. For 16 years prior to that he held similar roles at Petro-Canada, supporting the company’s international exploration business in Yemen, Algeria, Tunisia, & Libya as well as Pakistan, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. Since 2013 David has been president of Tradewinds Global Consulting Corp., most recently providing E&P contract and business development services to projects in Alaska, India, and Nigeria. He has been a member of the CGEF since inception and a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) since 1988.
